Gino Troia, a native of Naples, Italy, is a chef, food historian and certified Italian sommelier. He is one of the founders of his family’s restaurant, Café Troia, in the heart of Towson, MD. Under his direction Café Troia has been awarded an “Excellent” rating by the Washington-Baltimore Zagat for several years and was selected as one of the Top 50 Baltimore restaurants in 2006 by Baltimore Magazine. Chef Gino is also the founder of Gino Troia Catering. Gino has worked as an educator at the Goucher College continuing education program in Towson and at the Roland Park Country School in Baltimore.

Besides his own tours Gino is frequently hired to put together and lead corporate and private tours of Italy.

Chef Gino divides his time between his adopted hometown of Baltimore and Italy dedicating himself to exploring and sharing the rich culture of his home country. A self-styled food historian, Gino is always working on strengthening the cultural and gastronomic link between the two countries. He offers regularly cooking classes and he organized the famous Giro D’ Italia at Café Troia, a series of monthly dinners featuring the food and wine of Italy’s twenty regions.

Gino personally guides you through his Italy and the diversity of the simple pleasures of Italian life. Relaxation and fun are his foremost priorities.
